What Depeche Mode: Tour of the Universe - Live in Barcelona Is About
The recording was assembled from two full houses Depeche Mode played at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona on 20 and 21 November 2009, and it carries twenty-one tracks. The tour was called Tour of the Universe and these two nights are counted among its most remembered stops. Four additional tracks taken from the two nights and a documentary shot across the tour were included as well, so what exists is not only a concert film but a record of the tour itself. On stage, alongside Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Andy Fletcher, are Christian Eigner on drums and Peter Gordeno on keyboards. Russell Thomas directed the hundred and twenty-one minute production, which is built on recording the band’s staging, the lighting and the relation they hold with the audience.
