What Dhamaal Is About
Four useless friends looking for a way to get rich without working run into a dying crime boss, who with his last breath tells them about a hundred million rupees buried in Goa and describes the spot. The four set off, pursued by a police inspector who wants the money for himself, and spend the journey trying to cheat one another as well. An Indian take on the crowded treasure-chase comedy; the jokes are loud, constant, and have no interest in subtlety. Sanjay Dutt plays the policeman. It was a big hit and produced sequels.
