What Dinosaur 13 Is About
In 1990 the most complete Tyrannosaurus skeleton found up to that point is excavated in South Dakota and named Sue. Two years later federal agents seize the fossil, and none of the questions underneath have clean answers: who owns the land, who owns the fossil, whether commercial digging is legal at all. What follows is years of litigation, prison sentences and a multimillion dollar auction in 1997. The title comes from Sue being the thirteenth T. rex ever found. The documentary stands firmly with the excavating team and gives the counterarguments little room, which is worth knowing going in.
