What Disney 100: A Century of Dreams - A Special Edition of 20/20 Is About
The work is a television special prepared for the hundredth year of a large entertainment company. It contains interviews, rarely seen footage and photographs together with the recollections of people who worked in the company’s past; its last part is given over to a newly opened attraction. The account gives the company’s own story in the company’s own language; instead of looking for a critical view it proceeds in the form of a celebration. It is worth watching with that in mind, because the memories chosen were chosen to fit that frame. Even so the footage brought out of the archive is of interest in itself; how a way of making things changed over a century can be seen in it. Dave Hoffman’s seventy eight minute American production was completed in 2023.
