Don't Talk to Strange Men

Jean Painter is a schoolgirl. She has been baby sitting at a pub her uncle runs. When she is done she goes out to wait for a bus. The lane is quiet and well out of town. The telephone in a nearby box rings. Out of curiosity she answers it. She does not know the man on the other end. The conversation does not end there. He works on her by degrees, and she cannot see what it is. The film also follows a killing from around the same time, a woman who took a lift on the road. The two threads move towards each other, and in the end the danger reaches Jean’s younger sister Ann. The screenplay was by Gwen Cherrell. Christina Gregg and Janina Faye appear in the sixty five minute film, a British production Pat Jackson finished in 1962.
