What Don't Think I've Forgotten: Cambodia's Lost Rock and Roll Is About
The documentary tells of the popular music of Cambodia. The account begins in the fifties. It carries on through the sixties and the seventies. In those years the country had a lively music scene. Local melodies and rock came together. The singers were known on the radio and on stage. The documentary names them one by one. Archive recordings and photographs are used. Then comes the time of the Khmer Rouge. The music scene is broken up entirely. Many of the performers were killed. The documentary tells of that time as a music that was lost. Some of the recordings did come down to today. Sieng Dy is among those speaking as well. Norodom Sirivudh and Samley Hong appear in the hundred and six minute documentary, a French, American and Cambodian coproduction John Pirozzi finished in 2014.
