What Double Dare Is About
Jeannie Epper is one of the most senior stunt performers in Hollywood: in the 1970s she was the woman who fell, burned and jumped in place of Lynda Carter on Wonder Woman. Zoë Bell is a young stuntwoman from New Zealand who did all the action for Lucy Lawless on Xena. The documentary follows the two of them across several years. Amanda Micheli is describing a trade in which women take the same beating as men, compete for far fewer jobs, and watch the doors close as they get older. The second half follows Bell's push to land the job doubling Uma Thurman on Kill Bill. It screened at Toronto and was then broadcast on television.
