Dreadnaught

Mousy is a cowardly laundry worker who will do anything to avoid a fight. In the same city, a killer known as White Tiger hides behind painted opera makeup among a theatre troupe. When he murders Mousy's friend, the coward runs out of options. Yuen Woo-ping runs two genres at once: Mousy's side is slapstick, White Tiger's is close to horror, and they collide in the middle. Yuen Biao carries the physical comedy and the fighting simultaneously, while Kwan Tak-hing returns to Wong Fei-hung years on. The lion dance and the tailor's shop are the finest pieces of choreography in it. Who it is for: viewers who like eighties Hong Kong action comedy and genre collisions. Who it is not for: anyone wanting a consistent tone, since it moves from comedy to horror without warning.
