Dream with the Fishes

Terry has decided to end his own life and spends his time watching the neighbours through binoculars. On a bridge he meets Nick, who is living with a terminal illness and does not have much time left. The two make an arrangement: Terry will keep Nick company while he works through a list of last wishes; in return, Nick will do what Terry is asking for. Finn Taylor's first film takes death as its subject and makes fun of it at the same time. The things they do along the way are absurd and childish, and what sits underneath is serious. The telling neither defends nor judges anybody's decision; it just watches two men learn to put up with each other. David Arquette and Brad Hunt carry it between them. The tone can turn to sadness and slide back into a joke without warning.
