Drunktown's Finest

The film takes place on a Navajo reservation in New Mexico. The paths of three young people cross in the same place. Nizhoni was adopted by white parents as a child. She is now looking for her own roots. She is getting ready for college and lives a devout life. Sick Boy is about to become a father. He wants to build a better life for his family. Drink, though, keeps getting him into trouble. Felixia is a trans woman. In Navajo tradition that identity is called Nádleehi. She earns her living as an escort. At the same time she is hoping for a career in modelling. All three are looking for love and acceptance. The poverty and the narrow chances on the reservation stand in front of all of them. The account ties these three lines together. Jeremiah Bitsui and MorningStar Angeline appear in the ninety five minute film, an American production Sydney Freeland finished in 2014.
