Beatrice Minger and Christoph Schaub's 2024 documentary is about the designer and architect Eileen Gray, who designed a modernist house for herself on the French Riviera. What happened to the house afterwards is the real subject. Le Corbusier painted murals on its walls and in time the house came to be spoken of as his; the narrative treats that as an intervention without permission and questions whom architectural history remembers. The documentary joins staged scenes to archive. Performers read the words of Gray and those around her. The images are built on the house itself. Who it's for: viewers of architectural history and design documentary. Who it's not for: viewers expecting conventional documentary; the film gives wide space to reconstruction.
