What Echo of the Mountain Is About

The documentary follows the Huichol artist Santos de la Torre. He makes large murals. One of them stands in the Paris metro. The station is Palais Royal Musée du Louvre. In his own country he is unknown all the same. Like his people, he lives unseen. The film follows him as he sets out to make a new mural. First he makes the pilgrimage to Wirikuta. There he asks the gods for permission. The road is known as the Peyote Route and runs more than six hundred kilometres. Back home he begins work on the panel. What it will show is the history, the mythology and the religious tradition of the Huichol. Nicolás Echevarría directed the ninety four minute documentary, an American and Mexican production finished in 2015.
