El disputado voto del señor Cayo

The film was adapted from a novel by Miguel Delibes. Rafael Corral is a socialist politician. He decides to attend the funeral of a friend. He had been advised not to go, for political reasons. He goes all the same. At the funeral he runs into some old friends. Talking with them changes his mind. The account is built on that change. The funeral looks like a place outside politics. But what is said there turns into a political decision. Eusebio Lázaro and Mari Paz Molinero are in the cast too. The film is put together as a comedy. Francisco Rabal and Iñaki Miramón take the leads, with Juan Luis Galiardo and Lydia Bosch also in the cast, in Antonio Giménez-Rico’s Spanish film of 1986.
