Elephant

Elephant, directed by Mark Linfield and Vanessa Berlowitz, is a Disneynature documentary narrated by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, marking her first project after she and Prince Harry stepped back from royal duties on March 31, 2020. She signed the voiceover deal in exchange for a donation to the wildlife charity Elephants Without Borders. The film follows elephant Shani and her son Jomo as their herd, led by matriarch Gaia, treks roughly 1,000 miles across the Kalahari over eight months in search of water, and it launched on Disney+ on April 3, 2020. Who it's for: anyone curious about Meghan Markle's first project right after stepping back from royal duties, paired with a herd's migration story. Who it's not for: viewers wanting purely neutral nature documentary narration, since several UK critics found her narration overdramatized.
