Enclave

Kosovo, 2004. The war is over and the division is not. Nenad is ten and lives in a Serbian village; he goes to school in an armoured vehicle and is the only pupil in his class. His grandfather dies. Nenad wants him buried properly, and that needs a priest, and the priest is on the other side of the line. The boy sets out alone. On the way he meets two Albanian boys: one is hostile to him and the other is not. Whether the funeral happens comes down to what those three children do. Goran Radovanović directs the Serbian film; ninety-two minutes, with Filip Šubarić as Nenad. It was shot in Kosovo, in real locations. It was Serbia's entry for the foreign language film Oscar in 2016. The film has children on both sides of the line.
