Everybody to Kenmure Street

Felipe Bustos Sierra's 2026 documentary covers what happened in the Pollokshields district of Glasgow in May 2021. Home Office teams detained two neighbours in a dawn raid for deportation. When word spread through the neighbourhood, hundreds came into the street. One man lay down under the van and the crowd did not disperse for hours; the narrative builds step by step how that resistance organised itself. The documentary rests on phone footage and testimony. The district is among the most mixed in Scotland, and the film shows why that composition mattered. The Home Office position is not part of the narrative. Who it's for: those interested in immigration policy and stories of local solidarity. Who it's not for: viewers who want to hear the other side of the question.
