Fauci

Anthony Fauci ran the American institute for infectious diseases from 1984 and advised seven presidents. The documentary follows him from a career that began with the AIDS epidemic in the eighties up to the present: SARS, Ebola and Covid. The camera follows him at home, running, on the phone and at the podium. His wife Christine Grady also speaks. John Hoffman and Janet Tobias directed this National Geographic documentary together, and it stands openly on Fauci's side; among those who speak are George W. Bush, Bill Gates and Bono. Its strongest passage is the AIDS years, when activists targeted Fauci and later worked alongside him. Fauci is a deeply contested figure in America today, and the film does not give the other side of that argument equal room.
