What Food Evolution Is About

The documentary takes up the argument over genetically modified food and defends what the scientific evidence says about it. Talking to farmers, to scientists and to figures on the other side, it describes how fear, mistrust and second hand information shape decisions; Neil deGrasse Tyson reads the narration. The film has a clear position and for exactly that reason was criticised as one-sided: it was said to give no equal room to objections about control over seed, food sovereignty and dependence on corporations, and to have been made with the backing of a professional body close to the industry. Scott Hamilton Kennedy’s ninety two minute American documentary was completed in 2017.
