Force

Nishikant Kamat's 2011 Indian film is a remake of a Tamil picture. Yashvardhan works in the narcotics unit and does his job with violence; he has no personal life and is attached to nobody outside his team. Meeting Maya changes him and for the first time he has something to fear. Vishnu, who owned the drug operation the unit destroyed, targets the officers' families for revenge. The film turns that threat into a personal reckoning and its second half is built entirely on vengeance. The action is heavy and the violence pronounced; John Abraham trained physically for the part. The story follows the plot of the original and expands its emotional sections. Who it's for: viewers who like Indian action. Who it's not for: anyone who knows the Tamil original; this version is louder.
