What Forever Pure Is About

Beitar Jerusalem is one of the best supported clubs in Israel and the only team in the league never to have signed an Arab player. In the middle of a season the club’s owner transfers two Muslim footballers from Chechnya without consulting anyone. The organised group in the stands starts a campaign against it: racist chants are sung at matches, the players are shut out within the club, a fire breaks out at the club building and the team falls apart on the pitch. The documentary follows one season from inside and shows the relation between the terraces and the management. Maya Zinshtein’s eighty seven minute Israeli documentary was completed in 2016.
