What Forgotten Light Is About

At the centre of the account is a village priest. He is called Father Holy. The time is the nineteen eighties and the place is Czechoslovakia. The roof of the church is leaking. The priest is trying to raise money for the repair. But two separate obstacles stand in his way. One is the state offices, the other the church administration. Both turn the matter into a pile of paper. Even so Holy stands with the villagers. His dealings with people are warm and full of jokes. That is why he is liked around the place. But he is losing the fight. In the end he is transferred somewhere else. Bolek Polívka and Veronika Žilková take the leads. The film was adapted from a novel by Jakub Deml.
