Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass

Gail Daughtry is asked the standard question: who would your free pass be. She names her fiancé Tom first, then, pushed by her best friend Otto, reluctantly gives a name: Jon Hamm. That should have been the end of the joke, except Tom is then caught with the celebrity he chose. Gail and Otto get on a plane to Los Angeles to find the Mad Men actor. The idea is the absurdity of holding someone to the list: nobody answers that question seriously, and the film follows what happens when the answer is taken seriously all the way out. The celebrities they meet along the way play themselves, and the cast is very large. David Wain directed and co-wrote with Ken Marino. Zoey Deutch plays Gail, with Jon Hamm, John Slattery, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Michael Cassidy, Sabrina Impacciatore and Ken Marino in the cast. The cameos include Jennifer Aniston, Elizabeth Banks, Paul Rudd, Henry Winkler and Weird Al Yankovic. It opened in the United States on 10 July 2026. Who it is for: anyone who likes the Wain and Marino brand of humour, a downpour of cameos, and road comedies. Who it is not for: anyone wanting structure. The story rests on a single joke, the celebrity roster sometimes gets in front of it, and the pace drops in the second half.
