Gamemaster

The documentary goes inside the world of tabletop games. The business has grown quickly in recent years. The film follows the people who design the games. At the centre of the account are designers nobody knows yet. Each of them is trying to get their own game made. A process spread over years is followed. Every step from the idea to production is visible. Looking for a publisher at conventions is part of the work. Being turned down happens often. Established names speak in the film as well. Klaus Teuber and Matt Leacock are among them. Elan Lee and Reiner Knizia are part of the account too. What they say lights the road for the newcomers. The documentary does not skip the money side of the industry. Klaus Teuber and Matt Leacock speak in the ninety six minute documentary. It is a German and American co-production Charles Mruz finished in 2020.
