Getting Gilliam

The documentary watches Terry Gilliam at work. The film being made is Tideland. The camera starts at the preparation stage. Gilliam’s way of working is visible on set. There is how he talks to his actors. There is how he sets up his shots. The setbacks are recorded as well. The difficulties Gilliam has met across his career are well known. On this shoot too things do not always go smoothly. Producers and crew members speak as well. The man making the documentary is a director himself. Vincenzo Natali watches the work as an insider. It runs short, forty five minutes. The telling does not dress anything up. Terry Gilliam appears in the forty five minute documentary, a Canadian production Vincenzo Natali finished in 2005.
