Will Harris, a goat, wants to be the greatest of all time at roarball, a sport built like basketball. Sony Pictures Animation made it with Columbia, Unanimous Media and Modern Magic. The voice cast is deep: Caleb McLaughlin leads, with Gabrielle Union, David Harbour, Nick Kroll and Jennifer Hudson. Stephen Curry produced and makes his voice acting debut in it. The release date was not an accident. It premiered in Los Angeles on 6 February 2026 and went wide on 13 February, landing on NBA All-Star weekend. Critics praised the cast and the animation, leaving it at 82 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. It grossed 195.1 million dollars worldwide and posted the biggest opening weekend for an original animated film since Elemental in 2023. Who it is for: children who like basketball, and adults who know where the word GOAT comes from. The film works that pun to the end. Who it is not for: anyone tired of the perseverance and teamwork template in sports animation. The story travels familiar ground.
