What Godspeed Is About
Na-Do is a drug courier in Taiwan. His method has been the same for years and has never once failed. One day he gets into a taxi for another delivery, and it is the wrong taxi. The driver, Xu, is old, talkative and getting nothing right; his car is failing, his debts are large, and he has no fares. The two of them head south and the delivery comes apart by degrees. The boss's men are behind them. The two men have nothing in common and have to spend hours in the same car. Chung Mong-hong directs, with Michael Hui as the driver, a performance that won him a Golden Horse award. A hundred and eleven minutes. The director is also his own cinematographer. It begins in the shape of a crime film and turns into a heavy road movie.
