The Fourth Portrait

Ten year old Xiang is left on his own when his father dies. Just as he thinks he will grow up in an orphanage, the mother he has not seen for a long time appears and takes him in. But the new house is cold; his mother pays him no attention and his stepfather does not like him. The boy finds comfort in drawing, and what he draws shows how much affection he is waiting for. He gets some room to breathe when the old school janitor and a man with strange ideas come into his life. But there is something in the house that nobody talks about, and it comes slowly to the surface. Chung Mong-hong’s hundred and five minute Taiwanese film was completed in 2010.
