Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah

An object appears over Japan in 1992 and turns out to be a time machine from the year 2204. Its passengers bring a warning: Godzilla will destroy the country. Their proposal is to travel back and prevent the creature from forming, and in doing so they leave King Ghidorah in its place. The most contested passage is set in 1944. In his pre mutation form, Godzilla protects Japanese soldiers on Lagos Island from advancing American forces. After the Japanese release, American television reacted sharply. The director Kazuki Ōmori appeared on a programme where an official of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association condemned the film, and even Ishiro Honda, who directed the original Godzilla, said it had gone too far. The production is among the most lavish in the series, while the time travel plot is a mess in terms of logic. Who it is for: viewers following the Godzilla series. Who it is not for: anyone who wants coherent science fiction.
