Golden Slumber

Aoyagi meets an old friend for a fishing trip. He wakes up drugged, marked as the man who assassinated the prime minister, and running from police who are after him. All the evidence is already assembled, his face is on every television, and nobody is going to listen to him. The only thing he has left is his old friends: a pop star, a delivery man, an ageing gangster and the most cheerful serial killer imaginable. Yoshihiro Nakamura adapted the film from Kotaro Isaka's novel, with Masato Sakai in the lead. It takes its title from the Beatles song and uses the song as well. The chase turns into a question about what friendships made long ago are actually worth now.
