Golmaal - Fun Unlimited

Four idle university students are thrown out of their lodgings and move into a house that looks empty. It is not: an elderly blind couple lives there, waiting for a grandson who is abroad. The boys take on the grandson's role, and the comedy grows with the lie. Rohit Shetty builds it entirely on slapstick, with no interest in logic and no drop in tempo. The chemistry between Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi and Sharman Joshi kept the series going, and this is now regarded as the start of one of the longest-running comedy franchises in Indian cinema. Making the blind couple the material for jokes goes to uncomfortable places at times. Who it is for: viewers who like unruly Indian comedy and slapstick. Who it is not for: anyone uneasy about disability used as a punchline.
