Jackass 3D

Jackass 3D (2010) is the third cinema film in the series, this time in three dimensions. There is still no structure: dangerous and disgusting stunts one after another, real injuries, and no trickery in the edit. Using 3D in this form is the entire idea. The team worked with high speed Phantom cameras and recorded many of the stunts at thousands of frames per second, so that liquid, dust and impacts appear in three dimensions and very slowly. The opening and closing sequences were designed specifically for it. Jeff Tremaine directed, with Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Bam Margera and the rest of the crew returning. Spike Jonze is among the producers. Commercially it set a record for the series, opening far above expectations and becoming its highest grossing entry. Ryan Dunn died in a car crash in June 2011, a year after it came out, and that changed the register of the films that followed. It runs 94 minutes. Good for: physical comedy, technical curiosity, and viewers of the series. Less good for: there is no narrative at all and many segments are nauseating. Scenes involving excrement and bodily fluids are numerous. Imitating any of it is genuinely dangerous.
