The film takes place in three separate times. In 2019, in a world reduced to savagery after a great destruction, the immortal Kuzman is trying to learn how he might die; then we go back a hundred years; and finally we arrive at 31 December 1999, the last night of the century. All three parts run on violence and desperation and each builds its own visual language, so the film never settles into a single tone. Directed jointly by Darko Mitrevski and Aleksandar Popovski, it is among the most unusual things Macedonian cinema has produced, holding science fiction, black comedy and horror inside one work. Lazar Ristovski heads the cast. It was submitted as Macedonia’s entry for the foreign film award at the seventy-first Academy Awards but did not reach the five finalists.
