Eva Aridjis's 2025 documentary is about Diane Luckey. A song she recorded as Q Lazzarus was used in two films and made her known, and then she disappeared. The documentary looks into that disappearance. Luckey describes in her own words her trouble with record companies and the obstacles she met as a Black woman in that scene; the narrative does not put the end of the career down to a single cause. The director had met Luckey years later on a bus, and the filming began there. Luckey died before the documentary was finished. Recordings and unreleased songs are included. Who it's for: viewers of music history and portraits of forgotten artists. Who it's not for: viewers expecting a story of fame; the documentary dwells on the failure.
