What Green Tide Is About
Three people and more than forty animals have been found dead on the beaches of Brittany. The cause is an open secret: green algae piling up on the shore releases toxic gas as it rots. The algae come from agricultural nitrates. Inès Léraud, a young journalist, goes to Brittany to look into it and runs into fifty years of silence: samples that disappear, bodies buried without autopsy, pressure and influence. Pierre Jolivet directed. It is adapted from Léraud's own graphic novel. The telling is fiction; the events are not.
