What The Brigade Is About
A small fire brigade in the south of France. Bénédicte, an experienced firefighter, is transferred in, and Philippe, who runs the brigade, receives her well. Soon after, they go out to a bad road crash and Bénédicte misses one of the injured, thrown thirty metres clear. The man is in a coma and may die. She wants to resign; Philippe talks her out of it. Pierre Jolivet directed; Roschdy Zem and Émilie Dequenne lead. It does not tell a story of heroism: it shows the margin for error in this work, the fear, and the daily weight of it.
