Guendalina

Guendalina, the daughter of a wealthy family, is growing up between parents on the point of separating. Oberdan is her own age, the son of a working family. Escaping the tension at home, the girl builds a world of her own and gives Oberdan the leading part in it. Despite the objections of both families the two become attached. What is striking is this: the relationship between the young pair stays chaste from beginning to end, which is more than can be said for their parents. The film sets the innocence of the young beside the disorder of the adults. Jacqueline Sassard and Raf Vallone appear in Alberto Lattuada’s hundred and three minute Italian film, completed in 1957.
