Bilkis Banu loses her husband Hasan on the night of the twenty fifth of March 1971. Setting her grief aside, she joins the urban guerrilla actions in Dhaka, alongside Altaf Mahmud and others. But when informers who have got in among them and local militias working with the occupying force give them away, most of her comrades are caught. Bilkis has to set out for her own village in order to save her life. The film tells the war for the independence of Bangladesh not from the front but from the side of civilians resisting in the city and in the village, and it does not cover over what was done in that period. Jaya Ahsan appears in Nasiruddin Yousuff’s hundred and forty two minute Bangladeshi film, completed in 2011.
