High Strung

Thane Furrows writes children's books and hates the world. From the moment he gets up he complains about everything: the neighbours, the noise, the phone, the weather, the way people walk. Almost the entire film takes place in his flat with him talking to himself. Then the day starts going differently; strange phone calls come, letters turn up, and all of them say something will happen at eight o'clock. Thane keeps ranting and the clock keeps moving. Roger Nygard directs, with Steve Oedekerk as Thane, who also wrote it. Ninety-four minutes. Fred Willard and Thomas F. Wilson are in the cast, along with a very young Kirsten Dunst in a small part. It amounts to a one-man show, and whether you take to it depends entirely on Oedekerk.
