His Butler's Sister

Ann Carter wants to be a singer. That is why she comes to New York. Broadway is what she has in mind. She has a half brother in the city. His name is Martin and he works as a butler. The house he works in belongs to a Broadway producer. Ann takes a job in the same house as a maid. That puts her inside the door she was trying to reach. Saying who she really is turns out to be another matter. One misunderstanding follows another. Her brother is afraid of losing his place. The story runs along like a Cinderella tale. Deanna Durbin sings in the film as well. Deanna Durbin and Franchot Tone appear in the eighty seven minute film, an American production Frank Borzage finished in 1943.
