What Hitler Is About
Madhavan is an unmarried man who looks after his five sisters; the neighbourhood calls him Hitler because of his hardness and his temper, and the film takes its title from that nickname, with no connection to the historical figure. The order he builds to protect his sisters starts, after a point, to weigh on them too, and when they turn against him the question of how much of his protection is really control comes out into the open. Siddique wrote and directed, Ousepachan Valakuzhy and Lal produced and S. P. Venkatesh wrote the music. Mammootty leads, with Mukesh, Shobana and Vani Viswanath in the cast. It was the highest grossing Malayalam film of 1996 and stayed in cinemas for more than three hundred days.
