What Vietnam Colony Is About
A property company hires Krishnamurthy to clear out Vietnam Colony, a neighbourhood swarming with illegal business and people nobody wants around. Once inside, he finds something far more complicated than he expected: the people living there have their own order, their own hierarchy and their own case. Lal and Siddique's 1992 Malayalam film joins comedy to social drama. Mohanlal leads. Across more than two and a half hours it asks what redevelopment actually does to a neighbourhood, with a directness unusual in Kerala cinema of the time.
