What Hoaxed Is About
This documentary takes aim at the way mainstream media produces news and tries to turn the charge of fake news back the other way: in its account the side spreading false information is the institutions that level the charge at others. Among those speaking are Mike Cernovich, Alex Jones, Gavin McInnes, Stefan Molyneux and Lauren Southern. What is worth knowing here: many of the people speaking in the film are known for unfounded claims they helped spread, Cernovich's part in the Pizzagate claim being a documented example. The film does not test that history against questions from the other side. Directed together by Scooter Downey and Jon du Toit, it is an argument rather than an investigation. Anyone interested in the question of media criticism should watch it knowing that.
