Hooked

A mathematics teacher from Bucharest and the woman he is seeing drive out of the city for a picnic. On a wooded road they hit a woman with the car; she is a sex worker, and it happens where nobody sees it. While the two of them argue about what to do, she comes round and is the one who proposes that the matter be covered up. What follows is a single day in which three people take each other’s measure and everybody speaks according to their own interest. Adrian Sitaru shoots the whole film from the eyes of his characters, so the audience is always inside somebody’s look. Adrian Titieni and Maria Dinulescu appear in the eighty four minute Romanian production, completed in 2008.
