What The Fixer Is About
Radu, born in Romania, is a trainee on probation at a well known French news channel; he interprets for the correspondents, solves their problems and is looking for his own way in. When two underage Romanian girls who were forced into prostitution in France are sent back home and the case turns into an international scandal, he thinks he has found his opening and uses his language and his local contacts to try everything to speak to one of them. As he goes on he has to ask both where the line in journalism is and what kind of example he is setting for his son. In Adrian Sitaru’s ninety eight minute Romanian French production, Tudor Aaron Istodor plays Radu. It screened at the Toronto Film Festival in 2016.
