Hotel Imperial

The film is set during the First World War. An Austrian officer is trapped behind the Russian lines. He tries to get through to his own side. The way is closed, though. He has to take refuge in a small hotel. A chambermaid there hides him. Something grows between the two of them. Then a Russian general makes the hotel his headquarters. The general sets his sights on the maid. That is how the tension in the hotel builds. The officer has another task as well. Somebody is passing military information to the Russians. That information could bring the Austrian army to ruin. He has to find out who the spy is. The film tells a war inside one narrow space. Pola Negri and James Hall appear in the eighty five minute film, an American production Mauritz Stiller finished in 1927.
