I am William

William’s father is dead and his mother’s mental health is not good. So he lives with his uncle Nils. Nils took early retirement and gets by buying cheap and selling dear. Meanwhile a large debt has piled up and the town’s gang wants the money in full. William sets about clearing his uncle’s debt. Viola, a girl in his class, is also on his mind; perhaps the courage will say something to her too. The film balances the weight the boy takes on with humour. The account runs in the shape of a family film without making the matter lighter than it is. The work is adapted from a novel. Alexander Magnússon and Rasmus Bjerg appear in Jonas Elmer’s eighty six minute Danish film, completed in 2017.
