I Don't Want to Talk About It

The events take place in a town in Argentina in the nineteen thirties. Leonor is a strong willed woman. Her daughter Charlotte is born short in stature. The mother never speaks of it. She lets nobody in the town speak of it either. Anyone who raises it is silenced at once. She raises her daughter in as ordinary a childhood as she can. Charlotte grows into a clever and self possessed young woman. There is a man in the town called Ludovico. He is well off and is considered eccentric. He collects miniature objects. He becomes taken with Charlotte. The town begins to talk about it. Marcello Mastroianni and Luisina Brando appear in the hundred and six minute film, an Argentine and Italian co-production María Luisa Bemberg finished in 1993.
