What I Know Where I'm Going! Is About

Joan Webster has always lived exactly to plan, and the current plan is to reach an island off the west of Scotland and marry a wealthy industrialist. Then the weather closes in, the boat will not sail, and she is stranded on Mull. In the few days she cannot cross, she learns how the people there manage to be rich without money, and who the naval officer Torquil actually is. Powell and Pressburger hang a romantic comedy on wind, fog and a whirlpool, and Joan's real opponent is her own certainty.
