Ice Kacang Puppy Love

The story is set in the nineteen eighties. The place is Tronoh, a small town in Perak. Botak is the son of a coffee shop owner. He is quiet and keeps to himself. A stall is rented inside the same coffee shop. Fighting Fish’s mother runs it. She and her daughter came here about ten years ago. Botak is attached to the girl and says nothing about it. The only way he tells her is by drawing. He draws her portrait again and again. Fighting Fish has a trouble of her own. Her mother left her father years ago and she is angry with her mother for it. One day she decides to look for him, and Botak goes along. The film was Ah Niu’s first as a director and rests on his own childhood. Ah Niu, Angelica Lee Sin-Jie and Gary Chaw appear in the hundred and five minute film, a Malaysian production Ah Niu finished in 2010.
