Ilona Arrives with the Rain

Maqroll, Ilona and Abdul share the same dream. They want to sail the world in a tramp steamer. Nobody has the money for such a thing. As the years pass the three of them drift apart. Maqroll is left on his own in Panama. He works as a smuggler and it is not going well. There is neither money nor happiness. Then the tropical rains begin. Ilona arrives with the rain. She is friend, lover and partner in crime at once. Abdul has found them a suitable steamer in Morocco. In Panama the two of them set up something new. The aim is an impossible fortune. Fate, though, has other plans. Margarita Rosa de Francisco and Imanol Arias appear in the hundred and eleven minute film, a Colombian, Spanish and Italian co-production Sergio Cabrera finished in 1996.
